Projects in the Built Environment

Urban Design, Land Use and Development

A wide range of social research projects have been undertaken in the context of urban design, land use and development. Projects have included the assessment of community attitudes towards proposed developments, describing and identifying the use of urban spaces and the impact of changes in urban design and development on communities.

Projects have been undertaken at the micro scale and have focused on specific development proposals or changes in land use. Projects have also focused on assessing social issues at the macro scale, including for example attitudes towards the development of urban areas and changes in land use and the identification of design preferences associated with residential subdivisions.
