Forestry
EBC has undertaken social assessment research in a forestry context since 1996 and undertook much of the social assessment research for the Regional Forest Agreements (RFAs) in Australia. This research has involved two core areas of focus which includes,
- An assessment and identification of the values and meanings ascribed to forests by the community and stakeholder groups, and
- An assessment of the social and economic impacts associated with changes in forest resource use.
It was through impact assessment research in forestry that a framework for micro social and economic impact assessments known as Town Resource Cluster Analysis (TRC-Analysis) was developed.
